The café in East Prawle is open during the season and a shop open all
year round plus a very good pub (The Pigs Nose) with a wonderful atmosphere,
log fire, real ale, local cider and serving food (and occasional
live
music on Saturday nights).
A very good baker
in nearby Frogmore and larger shops in Kingsbridge provide for all other
necessities..
For
eating out
many more pubs
and restaurants are within a few miles.
The south
Devon coastal path which passes near the cottage provides walking amid
superb scenery, in either direction - toward Start Point and Dartmouth or
towards Salcombe.
Salcombe and
Dartmouth are sailing centres. These are both attractive towns well worth
visiting.
A ferry from nearby East Portlemouth (4 miles) sails over to nearby Salcombe
which can provide an interesting excursion (car free and avoiding the narrow
streets of Salcombe)
A
fine sandy beach at nearby Maceley Cove gives that Mediterranean feel and sea fishermen have only to walk
down to the rocks to fish. Birdwatchers will find ample of opportunities in
all seasons.
